- Abstract
The resurgence of interest and anxiety about nuclear weapons is not limited to the general public but also, perhaps unsurprisingly, involves lawyers. Indeed, many lawyers have devoted considerable time and effort to trying to eliminate the threats that nuclear weapons pose to the survival of humanity and the global environment. This Comment proposes to sketch in a very short space the special interests that lawyers have in nuclear weapons issues and the special role they have to play in seeking to prevent their use and testing, as well as in promoting their eventual elimination. At the outset, however, it is first appropriate to outline the controversial half-century existence of nuclear weapons.
